Memory Notebook-Week 08 & 10
It's Thursday, so I'm sharing a few latest traveler's notebook spreads!! I call this project my Memory Notebook. I'm finding it so helpful when I sit down to do my Monthly Memories pages, since I'm writing down what I'm doing every day.
For Week 08, my parents came to visit to help with unpacking and a few odds and ends around our house. I didn't get many photos while they were here. Mainly because I was dead on my feet from all of the moving. But I did snap this one through the window. Papa is sawing out a little doorway for Izzy's cat door. Mama is reading the instructions with Cadie on her lap. Dixon is milling around. It's not a perfect photo but it captures everything I wanted to! This is why I love this project. I'm scrapping photos I normally wouldn't scrap! I couldn't make a whole layout about this photo or the story. But I can make a traveler's notebook spread!
I used Shimelle's Little by Little collection on both of these spreads. For Week 08, I attached a block pattern with my 1 in circle punch and came away with all of these great circles! Originally, I was going to line them up in a grid in the center but thought they'd be more fun wonky. I stitched them down and made the thread line up with the color blocking. Since they weren't perfectly cut I added to the wonkiness I was going for. I love this technique and will surely do it again.
For Week 10 I went with a more classic design in the same color scheme. The jumping off point for me was that great key die cut. I also really wanted to use those oh so colorful Thickers! It's a really straight forward design.
